Women who consider going for IVF pregnancy often remain confused thinking if there would be some different symptoms associated with the artificial pregnancy. It is but natural on their part to become susceptible because in IVF, the embryo is created artificially in a test tube by fertilizing the male sperms and female eggs. In most of the cases, couples are not willing to reveal to the world that it is a test tube baby. SO, it is the concern of almost every couple planning to go for IVF pregnancy to check up if the symptoms will be the same as in the case of natural pregnancy.

In this article, we will give you a brief on some of the signs and symptoms of IVF pregnancy.

In the case of in vitro fertilization, the fertilized egg is put back in the uterus of female through surgical procedure. Thereafter, an ultrasound is done to find out if the pregnancy is confirmed or not. When the woman who has undergone IVF surgery is pregnant, she begins to show the early signs of in vitro fertilization pregnancy. The symptoms are more or less the same as witnessed by women during the course of normal pregnancy. Common symptoms are:

  • Increase in the level of body temperature
  • Breasts turn sore
  • Menses get prolonged during the period of pregnancy
  • Cramps in the lower abdomen
  • Nausea feeling throughout the day
  • Morning sickness
  • Dizziness and lethargy
  • Frequent mood swings
  • Pain in the lower back
  • Fatigue feeling
  • Hatred and fondness for specific foods
  • Feeling of going to the toilet frequently

There is nothing as such different in the case of IVF pregnancy, but what happens is that since the couple knows that they have chosen an artificial means to conceive baby, they are usually scared of the symptoms. This is because, the fact that it is a test tube baby is kept a secret from the world and the couples don’t want anyone to know that the child was not born in the natural way.

IVF is considered to be a boon for all those women who have not been able to have their own baby due to some specific reasons. The best thing is that in vitro fertilization surgery is not at all painful. All that is done is that in a glass tube, the sperm and egg is collected and fertilized. This fertilized egg is then implanted in the womb of woman through a catheter. The pregnant woman thereafter starts showing the usual symptoms of pregnancy.

Women undergoing the in vitro fertilization surgery are recommended to maintain a notebook of each and every happening. Otherwise, it can be tough to keep record of things especially in the case of IVF pregnancy. It must start with the date when the egg was implanted in the uterus. To conclude, we can say that there is nothing as such to worry about in the case of IVF pregnancy as everything takes place in the normal way after the fertilized egg is put back in the womb of the woman and she gets pregnant.
